Week 28 - Forced Break

Starting the week with a painful hamstring strain is nothing I ever wished for. But here I am, unable to think about running, let alone about using the staircase in my office.
Michaela tells me to stop swimming and running and to keep my left leg steady. I try out cycling Monday evening to see how that goes - and I can do it without pain! The rest of the week is – as expected – about cycling.
As a reward for my unshakable belief in myself I book myself into a nice hotel in Zermatt for the weekend. I enjoy the impressive panorama of mount Matterhorn and go to Crans Montana by bike. On Sunday I bike back to Meiringen on Lake Brienz. My way leads me through the nice valley of Goms where I climb Pass Grimsel. But yes, I slowly start worrying about the Lucerne marathon: Will I recover fast enough to participate in the race?
