I can still feel the pain in my left hamstring. I have to admit that I have a problem. And it’s not easy to admit that my body is not indestructible. I call our family doctor, who tells me to keep calm for another two weeks. Swimming is ok as long as I use a pull buoy to keep my legs at rest – great idea.
I am afraid though, that I am not very obedient. I give running a try on Monday evening and after only 6 km I have to quit again. So, for the rest of the week, it’s all about cycling although the weather is not necessarily perfect and the days are getting shorter and shorter.
On the weekend I bike to Laker Pfäffikersee where a pumpkin festival takes place. It’s really fun and I take loads of cool pumpkin pictures. Sunday evening, I officially resign from the Lucerne marathon, feeling a bit like a loser - definitely not a feeling I am ready to get used to.
