My training plan asks for recovery. Bad luck this time. Paul, a friend of mine, has a great idea: We are going to participate in the Arosa Snow Run, a half marathon on snow-covered hiking trails in the Alps with a few 100 metres of difference in altitude.
My feet feel heavy right from the start and won't improve throughout the race. Nevertheless, I reach the finish-line in the first half of the starting-field, which is way better than I had expected!
